BOOK REVIEW : KYLAND by MIA SHERIDAN

KYLAND by MIA SHERIDAN

Dirt poor. Hillbilly. Backwoods hick. Mountain folk.

Tenleigh Falyn struggles each day to survive in a small, poverty-stricken, coal mining town where she lives with her sister and mentally ill mother. Her dream of winning the college scholarship given to one student by the local coal company and escaping the harshness of her life, keeps her going.

Kyland Barrett lives in the hills, too, and has worked tirelessly—through near starvation, through deep loneliness, against all odds—to win the Tyton Coal Scholarship and leave the town that is full of so much pain.

They're both determined not to form any attachments, but one moment changes everything. What happens when only one person gets to win? When only one person gets to leave? And what happens to the one left behind?

Kyland is a story of desperation and hope, loss and sacrifice, pain and forgiveness, but ultimately, a story of deep and unending love.

MY REVIEW:

I always felt that reviewing a Mia Sheridan book by me is not needed. I guess this is my way of saying my gratitute to her by giving us the story that will hit us with so much emotion and you will feel that...yeah that happened to me and she understands my feelings.

I wonder how Mia will write her next novel after writing Becoming Calder and Finding Eden, and I wonder how can I write a review for her. I just wanted to say that when I read this book, Im really having a difficult time dealing with my father's passing away. so I wana relate my review to what Im going thru.

Kyland and Ten were teeanagers falling inlove and competing for something they both wanted but they know in the end only one can have it, that one will leave
and that one will get his or her dream and one will be left. i certainly know that how to feel the struggle to sacrifice that thing you wanted most and finally letting
it go because that what real love is. love is sacrifice. love is sacrifice for the people you love. love is giving without asking for anything in return. this hit me hard
and i know must be all the readers who had to let go of something or someone. and at the end of the book you found out how that one person sacrificed you will
cry your hearts out i certainly did.

While i was reading the book i found the word that PERFECTLY describes Mia Sheridan's characters.... HONORABLE! if you are a fan of her, you will know that. that is something we want for the characters that we dream of, fantasize about, admire and desired! you need to read this review and be convinced that you need to get this book. the author speaks for herself. its a no brainer that if Mia releases a book... you should get that asap!

I dedicate this review for my Dad. He left us suddenly and while Im heartbroken I wanted to write this and I wish he can read this. He is my huge fan he is very proud of me and my interest in reading. I got it from him. People might not get to know how he sacrificed for us and how amazing dad he is but he is my dad and Im proud of him. I love him so much and Il miss him everyday. Il forever remember him and even it pains me to remember the times I wont be able to share with him, Il treasure the times I spent with him.
