Beauty from Surrender by Georgia Cates

The story of Jack Henry and Laurelyn continues...

How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer’s outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career—until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it’s a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she’s always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott—but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn’t come easy. The woman he finds isn’t the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamour, a life that includes him?

Excerpt :

Jack McLachlan’s POV

Shit! Am I too late? Has she let this Charlie guy into her bed so she could forget me?
I am a selfish bastard, and undeniably a possessive one, when it comes to Laurelyn. I don’t want her happier with another man and I’m petrified that she is. I fear he’s giving her the things I didn’t. And telling her the words I should have but refused to say because I was too stubborn to see the truth.
I squeeze my eyes shut as I brace myself for her answer to the question I’m bloody terrified to ask. “Did you let him fuck you?”
Laurelyn won’t lie to me, but that’s only one of the reasons I’m scared to death. I stare into the blackness behind my lids. I won’t be able to bear it if she tells me she let him get inside her. I don’t know how to handle that.
I feel her hands on my face. “Look at me.” I don’t know if I can until I know she hasn’t been with another man. “Please, look at me.”
I’ve never been more frightened in my life, but I open my eyes because it’s what she’s asking me to do. Her face is so serious. I think she’s contemplating how to say the words, how to break my heart gently and kill me slowly.

Lost in You by Heidi McLaughlin

Ryan Stone is a less than average teenager. He doesn’t have fancy clothes. He doesn’t carry around the latest smartphone and he definitely doesn’t have an MP3 player. Instead, he goes to school, does his chores and dreams of a new life away from Brookfield where he’s expected to follow in his blue collar family’s footsteps.

Hadley Carter is America’s Pop Princess. A successful recording artist living her dream with a sold-out tour and a handful of Grammy’s there isn’t much that she wants for, except love. But finding love on the road is near impossible when all she longs for are romantic dinners, a nighttime stroll on the beach and holding hands with someone who isn’t going to exploit her.

When a chance encounter introduces Ryan to Hadley, will he be like her adoring fans looking for a way in, or will it be Hadley who pursues Ryan even though it might cost her the only career she's known.

Lost in You is a story about following your dreams, taking risks and getting lost in love.

My Review :

what can i say i always love HEA endings! but let me say this i love how the characters "matured" and well they are loveable ….. i love how the author made the two important people close to Ryan and Hadley remained a vital part of the ending.

so, i wasn't expecting some scenes but the drama towards the ending is surprising considering the lightness and carefree feel of the story. i like how Hadley made really some effort to understand the character of Ryan since he is younger than her and i really like swooned how Ryan felt for Hadley!

after the drama's of the previous books iv read this is my walk in the park type of book, i really like and happy reading it!

Lost and Found by Nicole Williams

There’s complicated. And there’s Rowen Sterling.

After numbing pain for the past five years with boys, alcohol, and all-around apathy, she finds herself on a Greyhound bus to nowhere Montana the summer after she graduates high school. Her mom agreed to front the bill to Rowen’s dream art school only if Rowen proves she can work hard and stay out of trouble at Willow Springs Ranch. Cooking breakfast at the crack of dawn for a couple dozen ranch hands and mucking out horse stalls are the last things in the world Rowen wants to spend her summer doing.

Until Jesse Walker saunters into her life wearing a pair of painted-on jeans, a cowboy hat, and a grin that makes something in her chest she’d thought was frozen go boom-boom. Jesse’s like no one else, and certainly nothing like her. He’s the bright and shiny to her dark and jaded.

Rowen knows there’s no happily-ever-after for the golden boy and the rebel girl—happily-right-now is a stretch—so she tries to forget and ignore the boy who makes her feel things she’s not sure she’s ready to feel. But the more she pushes him away, the closer he seems to get. The more she convinces herself she doesn’t care, the harder she falls.

When her dark secrets refuse to stay locked behind the walls she’s kept up for years, Rowen realizes it’s not just everyone else she needs to be honest with. It’s herself.

Unbeautifully by Madeline Sheehan

Warning: This is not a story about fate or destiny. This is a story about pain, sorrow, and suffering. This is an impulsive whirlwind romance between two lovers that are not meant to be together. Theirs is not a world with sunshine and roses. Instead, their love blossoms in a secret world full of crime, violence, and death. Their story is about what can be born from nightmares.

Danielle “Danny” West is the daughter of Deuce West, President of the Hell’s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. A sweet and beautiful girl, she loses her way, searching for things that are always out of her reach. Erik “Ripper” Jacobs is the Sergeant of Arms in the Hell’s Horsemen. Once a man who always had a smile on his face, his life takes a turn for the worst when a tragedy befalls him, leaving him scarred and broken. During a midsummer night, Danny and Ripper’s paths cross, forever changing their lives. Hastily, their lust turns to love until another tragedy forces them apart. On a journey that is marred with ugliness and chaos, Danny and Ripper must discover if their unforeseen connection can find the beauty in their world.

This is Danny and Ripper’s story.

Everything has beauty. Even the ugly. Especially the ugly.
Because without ugly, there would be no beauty.

My Review :

Only Madeline Sheehan can create Freddy Krueger the love of my life. She is not a conventional author yet i admire her courage to write something new for her readers. She creates not so good scenarios into the most beautiful setting. How come we all hate and fear Freddy but since reading unbeautifully can you imagine a more sexy, hot, erotic man ever than Ripper?  I mean hell i just wana be shoved into a room with him and i wouldn't notice the scars only how beautiful this man is…..again…..thats Madeline's insanely great writing style.

Unbeautifully takes us babes, to the story of Danny and Ripper….and oh waiting for this book made it soooooo worth it! the sex is generously described and more biker dudes became the most desirable guys in this planet! It was about how Danny fell for Ripper and how their hot hot hot affair turned into the game changing part of their lives. I love Danny…i mean i envy her she was able to see the "real" Ripper despite his scars ….. only Danny can be so beautiful both inside and out. and Ripper? Oh my hot leathers! i love you and feel free to shove me anywhere! i thought Deuce is like the hottest of them but oh my back of the bike Ripper ripped my heart….can i be yours? No words! these are insanely great characters!

and the supporting ….i love Kami & Cox! the exchange of dialogues are the most fun! and i wana know more about Hawk…id love to see the face off with Jace may the best hell biker wins Dorothy's heart or in this case ass?!

if you are thinking if you want to read this well read it and find how can we babes fell in love with this world the great Madeline Sheehan created! love love love this book!

5 epic stars for Madeline Sheehan!!!

Upcoming Book by Rachel Van Dyken

Sometimes the only way to heal... is to shatter.

Rock star Alec Daniels has it all. Love, fame, money... But being in the limelight isn't all it’s cracked up to be, and after one bad choice comes back to haunt him he is left picking up the pieces of his carefully constructed life. Now he faces the toughest decision of his life:
Deal with his mistake like a man, or dive back into the dark hole of depression, drugs, and denial that have been his comfort for so long.
One wrong move could destroy everything. His girlfriend, his family, and his future.

And just for fun, here's a tiny excerpt:

Her eyes widened a bit when I purposefully flexed my arm and then she looked down, a beautiful pink blush staining her cheeks. “Remember how I feel about your blushing?” I whispered, trying with very ounce of self-control I possessed, not to make a complete fool of myself and toss her over my shoulder cave-man style.
“Is it the same way you felt last night about—”
“—And we’re done.” My brother Demetri cleared his throat, appearing out of nowhere. “Can a person un-hear something? Anyone? Anyone?” He shook his head as if that would make everything go away and cursed. “Seriously, I’m almost embarrassed for the sand.”
“Why the hell would you be embarrassed for the sand?” I rolled my eyes and pulled Nat into my embrace, trailing my hands down her arms. I couldn’t get enough of her. Not by a long shot. Even touching her was enough to send my control out the window. Ha, she thought I had control. No. What I had was a lot of guilt that made me feel the need to control every damn situation until I thought I was going to shatter.
“Because you guys were all…” Demetri put his hands in the air and scowled. “Fornicating.”
“Fornicating?” I laughed, a bit thrown off that he not only knew a four-syllable word but the meaning behind it. “How the hell does one fornicate without—”
“—Okay, sorry to break this weird love triangle up…” Jaymeson stepped beside Nat and me. “But we’re supposed to go over to the bonfire and pretend to be bonding.” Jaymeson was an action star from the UK and one of our good friends. At least he was someone I could count on during all of the chaos that was our lives. I was actually relieved when they asked him to be part of the show. Against popular opinion, he was actually a really clean-cut guy. He never did drugs, never drank, and spent every Easter with his ninety-year-old grandma. Sometimes I hated that he made it look so easy. Fame wasn’t a big deal to him. Granted, he also slept with anything that looked cross-eyed at him, but whatever. He claimed it was because Americans were easy.
“Ah, reality TV at its finest,” I muttered back to him.
“Cheers.” Jaymeson winked at Nat and then slapped my ass. I lunged for him but Nat’s hand slipped to where Jaymeson’s hand had been, making me totally lose my train of thought. I sighed and kissed Nat gently across the lips. Her wet tongue licked my bottom lip and then slipped into my mouth. I wanted to throw her onto the ground.
“And we’ve come full circle.” Demetri cleared his throat. “Back to fornicating.”
I groaned against Nat’s mouth and cursed. “Do you really have nothing better to do than sit here and watch us fornicate? Really, Demetri? Is life that boring without drugs?”
Because of me, my brother had nearly killed himself last year and was finally out of rehab. I couldn’t take credit for pulling him out of his funk — nope, that honor went to Alyssa. She challenged him enough to grow a pair and put on his big boy pants.
Demetri’s wide smile did nothing for my mood. He pulled out a piece of taffy and winked. “Just getting you back for walking in on me and Alyssa.”
It’s possible I’d been ruining my brother’s mojo purposefully just to piss him off. I’d happily take that to my grave.
“Dude, you were moving slower than a snail.” I smirked and made a slow crawling gesture with my hands.
Laughter bubbled out of Nat. “So true.”
Demetri cursed. “If a snail is a kick-ass-ninja-track-athlete, then yeah. I was moving just like that.”
“Did he just compare himself to a ninja snail?” A female voice said from behind us. We all turned. Alyssa, Demetri’s’ girlfriend, was shaking her head and laughing. “Wow, wonders never cease. What were you yesterday, Demetri? A turtle, was it?”
“A turtle?” I repeated. All eyes turned to Demetri.
My brother’s eyes hooded with desire. “You can ride my shell anytime, you—”
“Children!” Jaymeson yelled from the bonfire. “If you’re all done getting in each other’s pants, we’ve got some fake filming to do for the future leaders of America!”
“Truer words have never been said.” Nat nodded solemnly.
“What we do, we do for our country,” I agreed as I grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it. “Later though?”
She winked. “Oh, I promise.”

THE BET by Rachel Van Dyken

"I have a proposition for you..."

Kacey should have run the minute those words left Seattle millionaire Jake Titus's mouth. Instead, she made a deal with the devil in hopes of putting her past behind her once and for all.
Four days.
She could do four days!
But she wasn't counting on Jake’s older brother Travis being there to witness their farce of an engagement.
One thing is for certain.
One brother is right for her.
One wants a lifetime.
And one is in league with the devil.
She should have gotten Jake’s signature in blood.

My Review :

First of all this book made me smile and a little bit tears but….happy tears! I love the chemistry of Jake, Kacey & Travis! and the grandmother I ADORE HER! sometimes the old folks really know what they are doing.

Jake, well i hate him then i love him. i seriously think he should straighten his act because i know he deserves to be loved… I VOLUNTEER!!!!

Kacey, hmmmm……i can imagine her confusion with her feelings to both guys i mean i can't decide if i were in his place but this girl needs some people to be there for her with all she went through ……I'm thankful she got into her senses and FINALLY took notice of TRAVIS!

Travis……. when did the name SATAN sounds very good? well….since it was Travis nickname! this guy seriously will ruin every guy in reality! i mean OMG! he is the sweetest. glad he got the girl because he seriously deserves it!

5 refreshing stars for this book!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Always You by Kirsty Moseley

Riley Tanner has a best friend, the best friend a girl could ask for. He’s supportive, loyal, honest, trustworthy, kind, and thoughtful. He’s also the biggest player in school.

Their relationship has always been easy and affectionate, but after Riley’s month long vacation, things become a little strange. She starts to look at him in ways that go way beyond the ‘friend zone’. Add in her best friend’s rival, and things become a whole lot more complicated.

My Review :

Let me start this review by saying something is Kirsty Moseley's writing clicks with my taste although i find some not really good scenes/moments in this book.

i like this book although i have some issues with namely
  • i think Riley is toooooo way early to get married, i mean i can understand her losing the V card but marriage not much
  • maturity of Clay….i mean seriously an 18 year old guy to be this mature? i mean i don't think so!
  • Blake….im really sad he turned into a psyco! just sad
  • parents being ok with you 18 year old guy best friend sleeps in your 16 year old daughter's room just in boxers….i don't think so! this a most experimental age a person can be.

although i have to say i still like it! its a fairy tale thingy so yeah i like it….i love the idea of a guy best friend turned boyfriend turned husband! who doesn't like that right?

il give this 3.5 stars because i think Clay is hot and Riley bear is adorable :)
