BOOK REVIEW : FINDING EDEN by MIA SHERIDAN

REVIEW

The book began with Eden waking up and finding her at the home of Felix the owner of the jewelry shop she went into at the beginning of Becoming Calder. Felix surprised me with his kindness of offering his home and a job for Eden.

Then we found Calder consumed by guilt and grief but somehow found a way to survive with the help of his brother/best friend Xander. He convinced Calder that there must be a reason why he didn't die in that tragic flood in Acadia. He then told Calder to start drawing again and it might help him heal in some way.

I was so looking forward to the reunion scene, I honestly cant imagine how someone would write such scene with so much emotions coming from the characters. Believe me when I say Mia wrote the "perfect" reunion scene for Calder and Eden... i totally cried like crazy .... I felt like I was there witnessing Calder and Eden stare at each other not caring for the people around them. sooo good it hurts!!!

The characters are just amazing. There is an equal balance between the characters we love and characters we hate. I felt Mia wrote a realistic approach in terms of the characters reaction to a scene they are presented with, the emotion whether its hate, anger, love, protectiveness, longing, lust and desire. You are reading it and feeling like it is you talking, you listening, you acting each scene it is that intense and it is that beautiful and I love it.

I have to say my curiosity about cult leaders lead me to searching features and stories about them. Im totally devastated on how they were able to manipulate educated adults including their children and made them belief outrageous claims...someone even claimed he was Jesus and lived for 2,000 years. How insane is that. I just felt with what happened in the book is not far from reality and it pains me that those people might not be as lucky as Calder, Eden and Xander. Mia gifted us with a story that will make us realize how blessed we are ... in so many different ways.

How do you review a book written by an insanely good author with consistent high ratings? I mean really how do you review a Mia Sheridan book ? She never fails to surprise her readers with her talent and her stories. and to answer my previous question in my Becoming Calder's review.... reading another Mia Sheridan's book is the only way you can satisfy your need and want to sustain emotions that you will certainly be looking for after reading a book of hers. Her books are the true testament on how authors should be writing...its gets more epic each time. She always exceeded readers expectations and stunned us with stories we never bother to mind and raise our awareness.

The good news is both Becoming Calder and Finding Eden will be available October 5, 2014. So please clear up your calendar, ready your bed or couch for these books. Mia Sheridan is that generous to her readers not making them wait any longer for the second book. I don't think I can wait months.... I will go crazy!!!

This book deserves more than the star ratings I can give. I mean I will give my 5++ stars in an instant although I felt it is not enough. So, im gonna hand out by BEST 2 BOOK series of 2014, my EPIC read for the month and I may have gone crazy with my teaser pictures....read the book and trust me... you be making your own and hello picmonkey!!!

BOOK REVIEW : BECOMING CALDER by MIA SHERIDAN

BLURB

There is a place in modern day America with no electricity, no plumbing, and no modern conveniences. In this place, there is no room for dreams, no space for self-expression, and no tolerance for ambition.

In this place, there is a boy with the body of a God and the heart of a warrior. He is strong and faithful and serves his family honorably. But he dares to dream of more.

In this place, there is a girl with the face of an angel and a heart full of courage. To her family, she is the vision of obedient perfection. But she dares to want that which she has been told can never be hers.

Becoming Calder is the story of good versus evil, fear versus bravery, and the truth that the light of love has always found its way into even the darkest of places... From the beginning of time, to the end of the world.

THIS IS THE FIRST PART IN A TWO-PART SIGN OF LOVE SERIES INSPIRED BY AQUARIUS. THE SECOND PART, FINDING EDEN, WILL RELEASE SIMULTANEOUSLY. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

REVIEW

I never claimed im an epic reviewer or have thousands of followers that will be able to read my review. But when I finished reading Becoming Calder, I wish im one epic reviewer and had a thousand reader followers that can read this review and so I can give justice to this latest Mia Sheridan book.

The book started with a girl roaming around hungry with no money with her, she was looking for a jewelry store so she can sell the locket she had but in an unfortunate situation she knocked into a vase shattering into pieces and she had no choice but to give the locket as payment for the vase, she left the store with no locket no money. she then walked into a shelter home only to find out its only for men. but the owner of the jewelry store followed her and when he approached her she lost consciousness. (I know right? amazing prologue!!!!)

We then meet in the first chapter of the book 10 year old Calder meeting a very young future wife of their leader named Eden. Calder belongs to the "working class" and Eden is royalty for them. but somehow the two of them developed a friendship that will literally change both of their future.

that's the only part of the book I will discuss.

Forbidden love is the best of all.... only this time Calder and Eden was so right for each other. I don't want to spoil anything about this book because im telling you every word in every chapter of this book is worth it. I mean I honestly admit I have read books that somehow some of the parts/scenes can be deleted but let me tell you this.... in BECOMING CALDER.... every word is important! its like when I started this book (I only took necessary break) I was stuck in the story and I just could get out, couldn't stop!!! its THAT AMAZING!

I am a HUGE Mia Sheridan fan, I mean when I read her first book Leo.. I was like im totally loving this author then came Leo's Chance im inlove, then she wrote Stinger im totally amazed with her talent to write .... then came Archer's Voice, totally ruined me ....... and now BECOMING CALDER, it was like she woke up and oh I wana write about this sign Aquarius that came into my mind. it was that easy for her and wow how can you describe a more epic book to the previous epic one she wrote? I mean she keeps writing these stories and its not just good nor better it totally brings readers to another level, meaning how can you read another book after this? you will have like tremendous expectation to match up the emotion you have. because i'm like that, when I read a book that totally messed up my emotion I need a book that can sustain that... so Im waiting to read Finding Eden... because I don't think someone can read Becoming Calder, finish it and not asked to have Finding Eden the second you read the last line of Becoming Calder.

i don't know if my review made sense ..... BUT PLEASE WHOEVER READ THIS... MIA SHERIDAN deserve your undivided attention to read her book/s. i mean you will not regret reading her works! its always had something fresh to offer, athough i have to say i really like how she made her male lead with great teeth, Calder for a guy who loves butterscotch candies, come on babe tell us ur secret on how you keep those great teeth!!! i love a guy with great teeth and clean nails.... (don't judge me...LOL)

so can i give 10 stars? yeah i totally can... i can give 100 stars and nobody will ever question me why!

EXCERPT

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."   I turn in my chair and give Vera a curious look. Yet another English saying that I don't know. "I'm afraid I don't understand."   She gives me a soft but tired smile and sits down on the arm rest. I immediately wrap my arm around her waist and pull her down into my lap, where she comes to a rest with a giggle, her hair obscuring the impish smile on her face. No matter where she is, I can never stop touching her and now more than ever I need her to relax, to feel safe, to know I'm going to get us out of this.   "Explain," I demand. "Or I will punish you with kisses."   She raises her brow. "Followed by punishment by penis?"   I shrug. "That can be arranged. Now, tell me my Estrella."   She sighs and buries her lips into my neck. I can't help the small moan that escapes from me, nor my hardness building beneath her plump, round ass. I close my eyes and fight the urge to pick her up and take her to the bedroom, the only other way I know how to make her feel safe and sated, the only way I know how to escape.   "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," she says against my throat, "is a saying. I don't know where it's from but it means, well, nothing is scarier than a pissed off bitch." She pauses, sucking in her breath and I know she fears she's said the wrong thing. "Sorry," she quickly adds and I feel her body tense up beneath my fingers. "I didn't mean that Isabel is a bitch."   She is still so skittish over her words, the way she blurts things out, but it's one of the reasons why I love her. I cup the back of her head with my hand and let the softness of her hair sink over me. "I know you didn't," I assure her. "And, well, she is being a bitch."   "Can you blame her though?" she asks, her voice rising a pitch and when she pulls away from me, her eyes are wet. It breaks my heart. I'm getting tired of my heart breaking and I know that this isn't going to change anytime soon. Every day there is another weight on us, another crack appears.   "No," I tell her honestly. "I cannot blame her."   A silence lapses over us, heavy like a wool cloak. It does this sometimes. What we've done, it coats us.   Finally she clears her throat. "She's going to hurt for a long time," she says. "She's going to be angry. This isn't going away. I thought everything was behind us now, that she'd move on. You've been divorced for a year, if she's still this mad a year out..."   "She is mad because I am going back to Atletico," I tell her. "She is mad because of the paparazzi, the way they are hounding us again. She is mad because she feels she is being made to look like a fool. If I had just stayed with my head down, she wouldn't be doing this."   "But you can't live your life in fear, Mateo," she tells me.   I smile at her and brush her sunset hair from her face. "And neither can you."   She settles back against my body, sinks, conforms, melds. She is second skin. She is a part of myself I can't bear to separate from. I pray I never have to. I pray we can survive whatever is coming our way.   And I can feel it coming, that tension, that storm rolling in the weeks and days.   I pick her up in my arms and for all her pillowy curves, she weighs nothing more than a feather. I take her down the hall to the bedroom, throw her on the bed. She glows in the afternoon sun that streams in through our window and it isn't long before we are both naked and I am climbing over her, pinning her arms above her head and drinking in her body like the most beautiful, decadent wine.   I will devour her until all of this is gone.   I will consume her until we are all that's left.   I push inside her and let my hunger take over.

He’s thirty-eight. I’m twenty-three.He speaks Spanish. I speak English. He lives in Spain. I live in Canada. He dresses in thousand-dollar suits. I’m covered in tattoos. He’s married and has a five-year old daughter. I’m single and can’t commit to anyone or anything. Until now. Because when they say you can’t choose who you fall in love with, boy ain’t that the f*#king truth. *** To a restless dreamer like Vera Miles, it sounded like the experience of a lifetime. Instead of spending her summer interning for her astronomy major, she would fly to Spain where she’d spend a few weeks teaching conversational English to businessmen and women, all while enjoying free room and board at an isolated resort. But while Vera expected to get a tan, meet new people and stuff herself with wine and paella, she never expected to fall in love. Mateo Casalles is unlike anyone Vera has ever known, let alone anyone she’s usually attracted to. While Vera is a pierced and tatted free spirit with a love for music and freedom, Mateo is a successful businessman from Madrid, all sharp suits and cocky Latino charm. Yet, as the weeks go on, the two grow increasingly close and their relationship changes from purely platonic to something…more. Something that makes Vera feel alive for the first time. Something that can never, ever be. Or so she thinks

BOOK REVIEW : BURYING WATER by K.A. Tucker

BLURB:

The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.

The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface

REVIEW :

first let me tell you this is the second version of my review of Burying Water. you see, I got the ARC copy month ago read it and wrote a review and saved it on my laptop. I didn't upload/publish it yet because Kathleen will be releasing her book In Her Wake and it would very much help her promote the book by concentrating all news about In Her Wake. So I waited .... until my laptop shutdown and wont open. end of story I lost all files... yeah!

anyway, here is my review

first im very honored to be part of Burying Water Street Team. I didn't know what to expect reading this book, after reading Ten Tiny Breaths im a KA Tucker fanatic. I would end up messaging her every single time I read her books from the series. she created beautiful characters and of course dreamy men that a girl would dream of being with. so with this new book, its like getting to know Kathleen over again. its like she is introducing us to a new her. and oh WOW this book is beautifully told and the story made me feel love, fear, passion, hate, admiration, and hope.

the book is told from two POV of our main characters. JaneDoe/Water wakes up in a hospital with no recollection of what happened to her , worst she doesn't even know who she is I mean she doesn't even know her name. she was informed by her Doctor of all her injuries and whoever did that to her does not intend for her to live. and we meet Jesse, he relates the story "then" and he takes us to the beginning when he met a girl named Alex who had a flat tire in the middle of a highway while the rain pours.

reading a book with alternating POV with the past and present story is tricky and somehow confusing to readers but let me assure you that this book wont be confusing AT ALL!!! I mean each chapter is brilliantly written with Jane's ending is Jesse' beginning. and Jesse's ending is Jane's beginning.

forbidden love affairs are the most exciting to read with all the anticipation of being caught and the sexiness and desire of the characters are being highlighted. same goes for this book but Kathleen created a villain that made me feel fear. and that page by page im so nervous of whats gonna happen.

its a different KA Tucker but she is so good that no part of this book I didn't like. its the kind of book you make sure you don't have any interruptions when you started it and it will consume you that you wouldn't put it down and finish it. seriously I prayed that no harm will come to Jane and Jesse.

5 HUGE STARS for BURYING WATER
